Billy Joel was inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in 1999. DID YOU KNOW? He was inspired by the Beatles. He never sells his first row tickets to any of his concerts but finds true fans the day of the concert and moves them to the first row. His nickname is "The Piano Man"

Elton John was inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in 1994. DID YOU KNOW? Won a piano scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music at age 11. Officially changed his name to Elton John in 1967. ABBA- were inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in 2010. DID YOU KNOW? In 1974, when ABBA won Eurovision with Waterloo, the UK gave them ‘nul points’. ABBA was actually the first act from Sweden to win the Eurovision Song Contest. BEE GEES- were inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in 1997. DID YOU KNOW? The Bee Gees made their first recordings in the late 50s after being discovered by radio DJ Bill Gates. - The Bee Gees would do as many as 40 or 50 takes to make sure their songs came out sounding perfect. - The three brothers were best friends and had houses next to each other.

THE CARS- were inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in 2018. DID YOU KNOW? The Cars closed out their induction with a solid four-song set of some of their biggest hits: “My Best Friend's Girl,” “You Might Think,” “Moving In Stereo” and “Just What I Needed.” When trying to whittle down the band's incredible catalog to just four tunes, that's about as perfect of a setlist as you can get

JOURNEY- were inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017. DID YOU KNOW? Most people assume that the band’s most famous member and former lead singer, Steve Perry, was one of the original members when the band joined in 1973. However, Perry didn’t join until 1977. He was a member of the band for 21 years, until 1998. The original members had released three albums pre-Perry, none of which sold well.

QUEEN- were inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame in 2001. DID YOU KNOW? When Freddie's roommate Tim Staffell chose to focus on other aspirations, he recommended they consider Freddie. The band then changed their name to Queen which consisted of Brian May, Roger Taylor, Freddie Mercury, and John Deacon.

Before their formation, both members were solo recording artists.

GARTH BROOKS- was inducted in the Country Hall Of Fame in 2012. DID YOU KNOW? The singer's full name is Troyal Garth Brooks. OUR LEGENDS

FIRST RESPONDERS- DID YOU KNOW?  As of 2016 there were estimated to be around 1,134,400 firefighters in the U.S., 788,250 of which are volunteer. An estimated 2.4 million calls are made to 9.1.1. each year. Without first responders that would be 240 million emergencies that went unattended to. Aren’t you glad there is a system in place full of brave men and women? Enough can never be said about the men and women who lose their lives while serving their community.

LAW ENFORCEMENT- DID YOU KNOW? There are more than 800,000 sworn law enforcement officers now serving in the United States, which is the highest figure ever. About 12 percent of those are female. Since the first recorded police death in 1786, there have been more than 23,000 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Currently, there are 23,785 names engraved on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. We owe everything to these brave men and woman and we ask you the next time you see a law enforcement officer...thank them for their service.

MILITARY-  DID YOU KNOW?

  • The Department of Defense (DoD) is the largest employer in the U.S. There are more than 1.4 million active-duty personnel, 1.1 million National Guard and Reserve personnel and 700,000 civilians working for the DoD.

  • 31 of the 44 presidents have served in the military. President Teddy Roosevelt earned the Medal of Honor, the highest honor in the military. The only enlisted President who didn't become an officer was James Buchanan.

  • Before 1950, each branch of the military was celebrated on its own day. Now we celebrate the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Reserves on the third Saturday in May. Armed Forces Day is a great time to help veterans in your community and say thank you. Whether you shake a veteran's hand and thank them for their service or you donate to a veteran's organization today, there are many ways to show your support

VETERANS- DID YOU KNOW? Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11, the day that WWI hostilities formally ended.Veterans are people who served in the military (US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard) in times of war or peace. As of 2019, there were 12,987 living veterans who served all through World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. n 2017, there were about 1.9 million female veterans in the US. Veterans Day is spelled as it is for a very specific reason. The apostrophe plus S here, which would be the little curly mark between the “N” and the “S,” would denote possession. Veterans Day is not a day that belongs to Veterans or is owned by Veterans in any capacity. It is a day for everyone, regardless of if they’ve served or not, to reflect on the sacrifices of people who have served. The day may be dedicated to Veterans, but Veterans do not own it. We owe EVERYTHING to our Veterans. Please try and get involved with any Veteran group and show your respect.
